Same it's really frustrating especially when I end up getting the blame for having unresolved resentment even though they were the ones who made it hard to communicate. Thank you for the resources

Thank you you're so right I always blame myself for not being able to stick up for myself as if the other person isn't at fault for their behaviour. They always think they've won or they're right because I don't have a response. That's a them problem though

I'm glad it makes sense and that you know what I mean. I'm talking about those purely emotional/personal arguments where there's nothing to be gained from "winning" the argument and the other person is just trying to drag you into something un-constructive. Of course it goes without saying that it's always right to take care of your safety if it's at stake, or hold your ground if you're being pushed into taking an action you don't want to do ☺️

I guess sometimes there's that boundary where you need to say no; after that you don't owe any further explanation and if the other person wants to kick off that's up to them and there's little point carrying on the conversation 😕

@66Mustang and @SmellyBin thank you for your kind words of encouragement. It's great advice, but I didn't say what you imply I said re bullies. What I said is disability issues are just internal dialogue, and I need to open up about my disability to friends and family IRL to get support. Once that is done and my head is hopefully clearer, let's talk about this more, OK? 💘

@complex_being you're welcome and best of luck! He frequently speaks about the fight/flight response in conversations, which is really interesting, if that's of interest to you.

So I'll bow out of this thread for now. ✌️ Fabulous conversation. Hopefully people keep talking about this very important topic.
