PIP Assessment in Audit with Maximus - how long did you wait

I had my PIP assessment for a new claim a month ago with Maximus. It was over the phone and they recorded it.

At the end of my assessment the assessor spoke to me and said I could receive a call for more info and not to worry if I did. They repeated this 3 times so I had a feeling my case may go to audit due to them saying this.

I rang DWP and they told me they haven’t received my assessment report. I called Maximus who told me that it has been selected for audit. They can’t give a timescale, it’s been a month now, just wondering how long people have waited for this stage before the report is sent to DWP. I did ask if they needed anything from me and the person on the phone said all my side reports/info say complete so they didnt think so. The waiting is so frustrating.

    Hi @MaybeMabel and welcome to the community. I haven't been through this myself but I believe it can take between a few days to a few weeks. Hopefully another member has been through this and can provide their experience.

    just to update I called Maximus again and glad I did. I spoke to a really helpful person who said normally they can’t give info or timescales once an assessment has gone to audit, but they don’t normally take this long so they would look into it. So they put me on hold and spoke to the audit team who have agreed to look at this. He confirmed that the assessment looks fine, mo concerns or questions raised so it simply needs auditing.

    It seems mine was stuck somewhere not moving so hopefully now it will get completed early next week. Almost 5 weeks so far, so it seemed a nudge was needed.

    Good job you called @MaybeMabel! I'm glad the person you spoke to was helpful. It can be a bit of a gamble who you get but it seems you were lucky this time. Fingers crossed it's sorted soon 😊
