Hoping to watch it tonight @ChrisR777 so I will report back tomorrow. Your comments about the Milgrim experiment and Stanford experiment have got me very intrigued to watch it.

Netflix have just released a new 6 part show recreating the Stanford Prison experiment…I'm not sure how it goes but I feel like it's something that potentially didn't need recreating😅 But it will be interesting to see if there is any difference in behaviours and if knowing that they were going to be on a TV influences behaviour compared to the original experiment.

What do you think about recreating the experiment?

It might be interesting, as people forget quite easily that it's an experiment!

I can only advise, based on my experience, not to identify yourself with your role, to treat filming as an ordinary job. For screenwriters and directors, in fact, it does not matter whether the actors are alive in their subordination, painted images or puppets. These are tools for them, like a truck for a driver.

I find psychology fascinating, so I'm looking forward to watching this later (if it's possible to look forward to something a bit harrowing!)

Congratulations on your first role @tommy2k17 ☺️

    I've watched this now. Wow!

I think it said a lot about what people expect in disability care environments. Things like putting disabled people in a dorm, calling it a 'Nest' and then suddenly it's a cute and cosy way to live and saving money for the tax payer. "They look happy and well fed" and that's fine despite a clear lack of choice or freedom. Scary stuff!

I almost thought that the experiment wasn't going far enough at one point, but then they went into the room about sterilisation and onwards from there. Horrific!

I was so glad to see that some people did speak their minds and saw through it. And that it helped people to question how they've been thinking after the reveal. What an important piece of television.

Congrats again @tommy2k17, must have been a difficult thing to take part in, but such an important subject.

    I watched it last night.

I thought you were excellent @tommy2k17!! What did you think of that experience? What was the hardest part?

I found it a bit jarring and unsettling to be honest because I just wasn't expecting most of the people to have such positive opinions and thoughts about the idea!! Especially towards the end when they reached the future planning room and end of life room…

I thought the lady who was giving the tour was a great actress as she made me so angry especially when she stopped the man from speaking😠.

It's 6 episodes long so it makes me wonder if it was shorter or longer than the original experiment and why @ChrisR777🤔.

I just looked it up, I can't see that this programme is a series? I only looked briefly though.

I think @Mary_Scope might mean the re-do of the Stanford Prison Experiment @ChrisR777. That seems to have 6 episodes. This Channel 4 programme is just a one off.

I get you now! I can't imagine how they can recreate that experiment these days, it got out of hand pretty quickly. I don't have Netflix, but I shall read about it with interest afterwards.

Hi Tom and congratulations for your participation in the programme 👏 how did you audition and is this your first foray into acting?

Unfortunately, I didn't watch as it clashed with a series I'm following and I don't know how to use I-Player or anything else nor can I watch on my laptop screen or through my TV.

I like both presenters and can only hope it's repeated on Channel 4.

Thankyou - it was a bit harrowing, but it was good to act in.

Rachel (Laura in the show) is lovely! It was great to be part of. We had to say our lines eight times for all the visitors! The hardest part was being Mo, and actually saying my lines like I had a script in front of me. Obviously, I didn't, but I had to pretend I was forced to say them because Mo loved it there!

Thankyou! My agent got me the job, I had to submit a self-tape, and I got the job as I was told I was very natural. I have done a few indie films before (both on the topic of disability) but this is my first TV role.
