Can an employer give out reference saying you have not passed your probation period?
Hi guys, i have been dismissed from my old job about a month and a half ago due to not passing probation period and since then i had been offered a new position at this new place however i didn't pass reference with the new job because my previous job has given them a reference of me failing probation period and therefore they couldn't offer me the position anymore. My question is, are employers allowed to say this stated above?
Thanks in advance, any help will be much appreciated.

Hello @FabioQA and welcome to the community.
There are two possible answers to your question, as it is not 100% clear what you are asking, so I will answer both.
1. As long as the information is accurate your ex employer can state how long you worked for them and why your employment was terminated.
2. If the new employer offers you the job upon condition/s they can withdraw the job offer if you don't meet their requirements. These can include receiving suitable references.2 -
Hi @FabioQA
There's a pretty straightforward explanation of this issue from the employer's perspective here:

I hope this helps!0
