Daughter being diagnosed with ASD

Hiya, 19 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with dyslexia is currently being diagnosed with ASD.
Struggles with alot of social things.
I want to know do they class it as a disability? My daughter asked me as she wanted to know but is anxious. Thought I would ask on here.
Also if it is she has been told she may be able to get general support.. what support would she be entitled too if any?

I believe that autism is classed as a lifelong condition and therefore as a learning disability, but others will be able to tell you more.

Hi @Sandra19 , autism spectrum is a spectrum . It does not mean you have a learning difficulty. However dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty. So with Autism you have complex Autism with or without learning difficulties or like the majority of the population in the middle and some in the genius set.

Diagnosis will not change your daughter, but can help her to understand the many difficulties and challenges she faces.

Thank you for your advise. Still waiting and seems to have taken forever! The college have really supported my daughter.
The Autism centre ate going to send details in to college by writing a letter to help support her application for interviews and making that next step.
Another of my questions is!
Is she able to claim PIP and ESA?
How do I get the ball rolling for this if she can? Thanks
