First time I’ve done this as I’ve just applied for disability benefits 2 years ago after working for a company for almost 25 yrs they ended my contract on grounds I’ll health I applied for esa and got in the support group I have a condition called
Interstitial Cystitis Which is very painful and has changed my life , they awarded me first time pip after an assessment at low level for both but then without notice 16 months later if a 2 yr award taken itcaway from me altogether , my condition hadn’t changed if anything it has got worse so why can they remove it from me , I had to go in front of another assessor and he stated all the things I said but the Dwp adviser made her own mind up saying that even with his notes she had made up her own decision can I ask to see the atos notes from the assor , I’ve never asked for any help I’ve worked most of my life but now my I’ll health is getting worse and is really effecting my husband and 4 children as they are the ones dealing with this also ?, has anyone else had to be subjected to this

Hello @matthew04, and welcome to the community. I'm glad to meet you, but sorry you are facing such difficulties. You're not alone and will find many friends here who have shared similar experiences. So the answer to your question is 'yes', others here and elsewhere have been subjected to much the same.
Now; I'm not a benefits specialist, but we do have people here who are and who will respond to your post as soon as they can. If you can bear with us for the moment, they will get back to you.
You are safe among friends here.
Warmest best wishes,
Richard

Hi matthew and welcome
When did this happen ?
You should ask for a copy of the assessment report ( PA 4 ) from the DWP that deal with your claim
You shoulld ask for a mandatory reconsideration within one month of the date on your decision letter

Thank you so much for your welcome and reply , do I contact pip direct for a copy of the assessment ?, g the letter stated that the assessment did state other things but she say no evidence of my mental health or that I have trouble meeting face to face so she wasn’t giving it to me , she said her decision was on my gp report although my gp didn’t receive anything , I’ve contacted my MP , they didn’t even give me notice and took 4 wks to let me know I’ve had 4 assessments in last 18 mths , I worked for 20 plus yrs with santander and they ended my contract after moving my job to another city as I wasn’t able to do the new role no OH referral nothing after 20 I got not a penny they then after 20 days made the dpt redundant I missed out and was the longest time served adviser there I had to go through an employment tribunal and lost the case during that my mum passed away very suddenly after coming down with phumonua and spending 2 weeks watching her fight for her life in ICU , this benefit system is inhuman I would love these MP s to have to live on this system it’s inhuman , Just shows that one adviser makes a decision ur situation doesn’t change and another adviser takes it away , it’s horriffic xxxx

Hi Mathew
You should contact the DWP for a copy of the report. You have one month to request an MR. You might get the report in time ,if not you should tell them that you will be submitting new evidence and to not make a decision before receipt

Hi, new member here
I am male with Chronic Pelvic Pain / Chronic Prostatitis which is basically Interstitial Cystitis for men and also lumbar disc problems as well as IBS anxiety and depression.
I had PIP both enhanced rates from 2014 - 2017 as a new claimant not previously on DLA. At my latest re-assessment low and behold I only came out with low rate mobility nothing else.
My conditions havent changed yet on this 3rd assessment I feel I have been totally taken on by the assessor and having read the report there are lots of inconsistencies and things not included that I said and some things reported that I didnt say or didnt even happen.
I am obviously appealing the decision as they are just trying to fob me off with a lesser award as cruel as it is its all stress I could totally do without. The whole thing has really made me look at my existenance on this planet differently, its not right to constantly have to fight for everything when we are not well as it is.
