Hello @sophcpmum and a warm welcome to the community. You posted, I notice, very early (late) in the morning, even outstayed me and I'm sorry it has taken a while to get back to you.
I gather from your other post that you are struggling with medical problems yourself whilst trying to cope with a son with CP. I hope I've got that right?
Certain things I need to tell you - you're among friends here and in a safe place, and you will find others here who are in or have experienced situations similar to your own. Not the same, of course - we are all of us unique. But you'll find them friendly and supportive, so don't hesitate to tell us anything or ask us anything you wish to.
My late daughter (d1991) suffered from a number of conditions including CP (and it was the other conditions which proved fatal for her), and, during her lifetime, most of our friends and acquaintances had or were children with CP. They remain amongst the most beautiful children (and parents) I ever met.
I have some idea, in relation to CP, of some of what you must have gone through, and if I can help or support you in any way I am here and listening.
Please don't hesitate to talk to us.
I am going to 'namedrop' here a gentleman who I know will be interested in your post, a specialist CP advisor and, barring accidents, he will get back to you as well. @speedincaesar.
I'll give you the link, too, to 'Cerebral palsy' forum where you'll find conversations to join with others - both sufferers and carers https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/physical-impairments-and-cerebral-palsy
I hope this helps, and I look forward very much to hearing more from and about you.
Warmest best wishes to you and to your family,
Richard -
Hi @sophcpmum
Welcome! As @JennysDad has mentioned I have recently joined Scope as the CP Specialist Information Officer, I live with CP myself. Are there any specific questions I could help with? I look forward to talking with you.
