Hi
My mum suffers from different mental health and I'm currently appealing her PIP. We received a appeal date in 3 weeks time. I wanted to know can a person who suffers from severe depression, psychosis and severe anxiety be eliglible for enhanced rate of PIP as she unable to go out of the house without someone. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

@AFB The highest would be 10 points if she has no mobility problens

Hi @AFB,
Rethink has given some information on getting mobility rates for mental health reasons, and how that will be impacted by the recent court rulings.
From my understanding of it, it can be very difficult at the moment for people to get the enhanced rate for mental health reasons, but that should hopefully be changing soon. -
Hi @Lasian_Scope
Thanks for the advice and weblink. -
Are you appealing standard to enhanced without knowing if you fit the criteria?Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going.
-
Im appealing to enhanced as she was awarded nothing for motability. Ive seen the criteria but need advice to see if i was correct. As she unable to make a journey that familiar to her without assistance. Any advice @whistles

@AFB does she have difficulty walking ?

Not everyone with mental health can successfully claim Enhanced mobility, it totally depends on how that person is affected by the mental health.
