    Hi @1962

    Thanks for posting.

Getting handrails installed and a toilet seat involves asking your local authority community occupational therapist (OT) to do an assessment. If they agree these things are the best solution for you they will normally be able to supply them free from from the 'small equipment budget' (for items less than £1000).

Getting your garden rubbish moved may be more difficult, there is normally a cost associated with this, again speak to your council.

If you are struggling to find the contact details of the correct departments tell me the council area that you live in and I will try to find the numbers for you.

    Best Wishes

    Hi @1962

Thanks for clarifying where you live, I've have used the internet to try to find you the information that you need:

    Handrails, toilet seat
For disability equipment to enable your safe use of your home you need to contact The Enablement Office at Kent County Council http://www.kent.gov.uk/social-care-and-health/care-and-support/help-to-live-at-home/carers-and-assistants/enablement or by phone via the council switchboard 03000 414141

    Garden rubbish removal
I haven't been able to find any means of you getting your garden waste removed for free. If you are capable of getting it bagged you could use the Dover Council garden waste collection for £45/year, with a  maximum of six bags being collected each fortnight https://www.dover.gov.uk/Recycling--Waste/Garden-Waste-Service.aspx

I was hoping to find a voluntary organisation in your area that might help with gardening but I wasn't successful. You might just want to check with Dover District Volunteering Centre if they know of an appropriate organisation  https://www.ddvs.org.uk/

If not and you can't bag the waste yourself or don't know someone who could do it for you, it looks as if you will probably need to pay a gardening maintain service to do it for you. I found lots of gardening services listed at: http://www.ikent.co.uk/local/gardening-services/8/

If you are a council tenant and you have a general problem with maintaining your garden it may be worth speaking to your Housing Office to see if they can suggest anything which will assist.

Hope this helps in some way,

    Best Wishes
    Jean
