How will universal credit changes affect us? Worried about income

Can someone advise me please I receive the enhanced element for care and standard rate mob on pip. Universal credit not in our area yet . I fear the changes coming . you see my son who lives with me receives carers allowance . he also works part time from home on his small farm . he receives £99 monthly of tax credits as a low paid self employed farmer .I think he will lose hi s tax credits as he does not earn money on a weekly basis from the farm  of he gives up farming altogether would he be intitled to any more benefits ?

    Hi,

    Those that are currently claiming the old benefits, such as tax credits etc will not have to move across to Universal credit until at least 2019 and most likely much later than that for a lot of people, unless a change of circumstances prompts a move to UC in the meantime of course.

    PIP isn't part of UC so there's nothing to worry about there. As for anything else then i really wouldn't worry at the moment because there's nothing to worry about, the change over won't happen over night. Hope this helps.
