How much compensation should DWP for 7 years delay

Hi. My disabled sister’s claim for Income Related ESA was accepted and backdated after 7 long years, after a hugely long battle with DWP, and in courts.
She was recently paid the backdated money but when I’ve asked for compensation to cover the legal cost, for mal-administration again after a 5 months battle in which they didn’t accept initially they ever done anything wrong, recently I had the DWP accept they were wrong but denied anything I’ve asked.
They offered to pay the interest (£587) and £200 compensation!
Which I believe it’s not fair!
Many advice please?

Hi julia21r,
The DWP complaints procedure is here and you should follow each stage of it, and carry on until the end or until you have a satisfactory outcome.

It's impossible to say how much compensation you should have for 7 years of delays, it's a case of how long is a piece of string. All the best,

Is there a precedent from anyone's knowledge of how much compensation they have offered in the past for anything they they accepted after 7 years?
Thank you.0 -
