Hi @holgate1 welcome to the community!
I am sorry for what you are going through. Have you tried contacting the Samaritans for emotional support? You can phone them on 116 123 (free) or you can email jo@samaritans.orgDisability Gamechanger - 2019 -
Hello @holgate1 Pleased to meet you welcome Sorry what has happened to you.
First thing I need to say great to hear your doing well coming off but what is needed is the support and the information, advice to keep you mentally strong.
Understand I have been clean from drugs and alcohol for eleven years. Every day is an itch, hurts you every day my friend like you.
Been alcoholic for thirty years.
What is need I can help is to give some numbers to contact .
w.w.w talktofrank .com. Telephone number 0300 123 6600.
I have used them one time or more when I fear of going back on cannabis. Have on line support and chat. Hope that helps.
w.w.w.alcoholics-anonymous National Helpline 0800 9177 650
help@aamail.org.
Would say if you need that support please go and wish you the best. I am always here as know and struggle with the fears and anxieties constantly.
Took me 18 months to come off as it did for drugs as well.
Have had a friend works in rehab centres have do know the problems there as well. You get so much support and then it cut off and have the utmost respect for the staff. As they are all trying to cope as well dealing with every one like ourselves.
Also with your benefits ask for some help and support, from CAB or speak to if you do have any one to help with your mental health.
Look at the MIND website or consider looking on line.
Hope that helps and please take care.
I am always here to listen, and offer advice. If I can.
Pleasure to meet you .
Take care
