Hi, I was awarded ESA and placed in a support group after my brain haemorrhage in 2012, in 2014 i applied for permissible work to do 5 hours per week, i did this for 2 years with no issues with ESA, i wanted to increase my hours to see what i could do, i started in 2017 doing 10 hours per week, and was told that if this didn't work out i would go back onto ESA, unfortunately 2018 i had to leave, i was unable to cope with the stress ( i am/was a teacher!) i have submitted my claim for ESA, it got turned down saying i have run out of contributions, i was sent for an work capability assessment, i received a letter today saying ESA declined again as i dont have enough contributions, having read on the DWP website if i am in a support group the 365 max and the contributions dont stop the ESA when in a support group, How do i get back in a support group? i am on pip and get max for both, but that is all i have coming into me.
hope you can help

Hi,As your ESA claim stopped then your previous support group award no longer exists. Claiming Contributions based ESA depends on your NI contributions in the previous 2 tax years.Do you live with a partner that work? or alone?I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
