I have a six year old son who suffers from double incontinence. He has been like this a couple of years. He is under a continence team who just prescribe him laxatives(laxicol) every few months. This doesn't really help. So January he is being referred to hospital to see a doctor. I was wondering if we are entitled to any help or benefits? Thanks.

Hi,If your son needs more care, attention or supervision than a child of the same age who isn't disabled, then DLA maybe possible, if you don't already claim it. You'll need to prove that his needs are greater. Evidence will also be needed to support a claim. I'll pop a link here for you to look at.Whether or not you can claim anything thing else will totally depend on your circumstances and with very little information it's impossible to advise further. I'd advise speaking to your local CAB for a full benefits check.
