enhanced disability premium - esa (cb) receiving private pension

i receive a private pension of £116 and receive esa (contribution based) support group - my esa is reduced by £15.50 per week - i have recently been contacted by dwp stating i may be entiltled to the enhanced disability premium- my question is will i be barred from entitlement as my pension on a £ for £ basis does not give entitlement to esa (income related) or will i receive a reduced EDP as my pensiion is not greater than esa (ir) + edp - i pose this question as the answer is quite significant as the dwp have indicated it dayes back to november 2013 when i was migrated from incapacity benefit any guidance will be fully appreciated thank you

Your pension will be counted £1 for £1 for any income related ESA. The EDP is £16.40 per week from April 2018, less in previous years. Whether you're entitled to any backdated money will depend on how long you've been receiving the pension for. The reason your ESA is reduced is because your pension is more than £85 per week.If you're not sure then fill out the form with all your details and DWP will assess you for the Income related top up. Decisions can take 12 weeks.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

As your pension is £116 per week then you won't be entitled to any EDP. It really does depend on how long you've been receiving the pension for.

i have been receiving this pension since 2008 - and have had reduced reduced incapacity benefit payments then reduced esa payments - although when i migrated from incapacity benefit to esa (support group nov 2013 the weekly pension at that time was approx (£108 gross £102 net per week) i dont think i will be entitled to any edp top up - once again thank you for your response
