Hi. Does anybody know how long an appeal against ESA decision actually takes?
I cannot find a contact number to even speak to someone. Many thanks

Hi @Felixmum, and a warm welcome to the community!

Appeal waiting times vary according to where you're from and so I'm afraid it's difficult to advise on how long this will be.

There should be a contact number on the letters you've previously had on ESA, however there's also a helpline you can contact:
Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Income Support, Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

    Telephone: 0800 169 0310
    Textphone: 0800 169 0314

NGT text relay (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 169 0310

    Welsh language: 0800 328 1744
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
    Find out about call charges

    Hi,

Do you mean the Mandatory Reconsideration? If so then there's no time scales for this, it depends on backlog in your area.

If it's Tribunal then it can take 1 year for a hearing date.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
