Thats good he did that. It all makes a difference towards our assessment. Hope its not long as the waiting is awful isnt it x

Yeah that's what I thought, he gave me a prepaid envelope and tips on posting to them as well but I decided to just wait until I see them now. I hope the extra evidence does make a difference - I've read too much about how the DWP rarely contact your Drs and specialists to get up to date info so without as much evidence as is possible, it's extra worrying. The waiting is definitely awful, It's a stressful time - I think the whole process is. Fingers crossed we get our dates (or decision) soon x

If you have extra evidence then don't wait, send copies now as some assessors will not accept it on the day and many won't read it

So many do's and don'ts - don't get me wrong it's all valuable advice and I do appreciate it, I just wish it could all be straightforward. Wouldn't the evidence be sent any way to the decision maker even if the assessor doesn't read it? Mine's only a letter proving the elevated inflammation in the joints I mentioned in the form and a prescription showing extra tablets I was told to take today (I asked the receptionist to copy it before I went to the pharmacy to get them as they won't be added to my repeat until the dr has checked how I get on with them) x

Very often they will refuse to accept any extra evidence on the day of the assessment, it's happened to me twice.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

It's so wrong that they do that especially when they advise you to do this as in Renee's comment above - the fella I spoke to when I called said that that would be an option for me too. No wonder people become disheartened with this whole process  :( x

UPDATE:  I've just had my review assessment at home..Which they just decided to offer me due to the worsening of conditions I think but I had still been feeling anxious not knowing what to expect of if the assessor would decide for whatever reason to recommend my payments be stopped and they, like for so many if not all of us, are my lifeline.  I needn't have worried, the young gentleman that did the assessment was a kind and gentle soul, very empathic and understanding.  I believe that each visit can last up to an hour and a half but he was only here for about half an hour and said that he wasn't going to carry out a medical because he could see I was in too much pain for one (which I was, due to it being ealy in the morning which is my very worst time - not that the rest of the day is massively better!.)  I told him I felt anxious of my pip being stopped but he reassured me that wasn't going to happen and he accepted extra medical evidence I had acquired as well which I'd been worried they might not.  It was a very positive experience and has renewed my faith in the process.  My message to anyone about to go through this process is to just be yourself and tell them everything - Us Brits have a way of playing down our pains and ailments don't we, stiff upper lip and all that so put any embarrassment or shame aside and let them see a clear picture of your life on a day to day basis.  I pray for everyone to have an assessor as lovely as mine was, lot's of love to anyone about to go through this daunting process <3 x

Thank you for a positive post. In a few days time you should ask for a copy of the assessment report

Nice to see a positive post for once, thanks for posting @PaganLady :D I had my assessment last week and I'm obviously pretty worried.

Hi @PaganLady, I'm glad to read about your positive assessor experience, it's great your assessor was so considerate. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. :)

You're very welcome WF2k! I think all of us at some point have read the horror stories &/or worry that we are going to lose what we depend on or will benefit from, it's only natural.  Obviously I can't promise you things will turn out to be positive for you but hang in there.  It's tough I know. I can tell you though that generally, they do seem to process things quite quickly after the interview now so hopefully you won't have to wait too long.  Wishing you every success x

Thank you Adrian, no problem.  I know how stressful and worrying these things can be to face, I'm truly grateful to have had the assessor that I did.  He seemed to want to truly help me in the questions that he asked and that I hadn't mentioned (when there's lots going on medically, it's so easy to forget some things, especially when in pain) x

Thank you very much for those nice words @PaganLady :D You sound like a lovely person. I was awarded enhanced/enhanced the first time around, the report was pretty much what I said in the assessment with just a few small fibs (nothing major), but not all assessors are the same are they.

Thank you @WF2k, that's kind of you to say  :)  No, indeed they are not.  I was awarded standard for both components my first time around and the assessor made judgements on things I was not asked or was but was relayed inaccurately/totally ignored.  I didn't have the strength to challenge it despite being told by certain health professionals I should have been awarded the enhanced rate on both x

@WF2k who's to say? I have done these descriptors myself and it also scores me higher than what the HP & DM surmised previously but I wasn't asked a lot at yesterday's reassessment which I don't know is a good or bad thing and I had neither the inclination or the energy to point this out to him. Although, I did mention how tired I was after undertaking certain activities, how some things take me longer to carry out and how I am unable to do things safely.  But, as previously mentioned, the things I was asked seemed to be geared towards genuinely helping me.  I decided to phone the DWP for a copy of my report this morning and was told that sometimes it's best to wait until I receive my decision letter as the DM can often (but not always) refer back to the HP for more info/clarity before deciding which threw me a bit but I asked her if I could request what they have now then request it again after I'd gotten the decision letter if needed and she said I could so that's what I did.  Just throwing that out there for anyone who might benefit x
