Hi,

My Name is Paul, and am about to become a grandparent for the first thing, so am so excited. My Daughter just had her 20 week scan today and was told their is excess fluid on the brain and the child would be born with moderate to severe disabilities.

Needless to say we are all devastated, how can we even register news like this. I honestly don't know what to do..

Paul

    Welcome to the community @WendellGee. It can be really tough to come to terms with any diagnosis. Ails has provided some brilliant advice, but if you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. :smile:

    Hello @WendellGee       :

    Hello My Name is Connie00

    I am one off the community Champion’s here at Scope.  it’s really nice to meet you.

    A very warm welcome to the Community.

    Thank you for reaching out to us.  I trust you are having a good day today.

    We are always here to lend support when needed.

    Thank you for sharing you story, of course you are all devasted, how does one process that kind of news, especially when you haven’t met the child, @Ails has given you good advice I cannot add to that.

    But I would say to you when you meet your grandchild for the first time, everything will seem not that important, you will fall in love with them at first glance, the first hold of them, this will make you more protective. And together all of you will work through this. together you will support each other.

    If we can be of any further assistance to you please don’t hesitate to contact us

    Have a good day

    @connie00   :)

    Congratulations @WendellGee :)

    Navigate is a national mentoring service that provides emotional support for parents of disabled children, perhaps they would be helpful for you and your family?
