- What’s something bad thats happened to you that has made you stronger? For me personally I spent a lot of time in my 20s in hospital unwell with an undiagnosed health condition, it also brought on mental health difficulties but I got better after a long time by percervering, hardwork, keeping strong and found a medication that was right for me and now although I'm still ill but I haven't been in hospital for a long stay for over 2 years. I now finally have a diagnosis, which is a rare disease but I've learned how to manage things by myself. I found reading helped me alot and creative writing and drawing because alot of the time I am unable to go out due to being on alot of medication and in pain but apart from that I have stayed strong and positive and I found talking to a person you can trust and understands how it feels can make you feel and realise you are not alone. There's always someone to talk to. That's why I am so happy I found this online community with scope and it gives me the opportunity to share my experiences, and support others ?

The love and support from my wife of 38 years has kept me stronger over the last 21 years that I have had severe epilepsy, without her love and support I wouldn't have got this far.
My problem is that I don't tell her this often enough.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡 -
@woodbine thankyou for your reply. I think it's important we have support and its lovely that your wife stands by you. The fact that you've put in your reply what you have and that you love her and appreciate her says alot. Sometimes when we have an illness we can forget that others around us are going through it too but in a different way. You sound like a lovely couple and I hope you have many more years of happiness to come.

Hi, I`m so glad to hear you have found a way which helps you cope with pain etc.
I`ve only just joined this community too and find talking to people who have similar difficulties help. I spent almost 20 years having tests and consultations, which only led to 2 wrong diagnoses. It looks like I`ll never find out why I cant walk after being fit and active for the first 45 years of my life!
I`ve been discharged by neurology and do the best \I can, with hubby at the helm and 2 excellent carers pulling me through each day.
Best wishes to you. xx

1- Cancer strengthened me. I was 16 when I was diagnosed and sent to a specialist cancer hospital a few miles away for treatment. I’m in remission now. I was fortunate but last year around this time one of my closest pals suddenly passed away from serious cancer complications. She was the same age (21) as me at the time.

@pollyanna1052 thankyou for your reply. Thankyou for your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about you having the wrong diagnosis, not only is it dangerous for your health, it could could mask any underlying symptoms /illness that's going on. Have you taken it further by taking to a manager or mp. I hope things improve soon and I'm here to listen any time you need support. Well done you for carrying on and doing the best you can do.

Hello @Tammyjane33 Please can I thank you for sharing.
I do think what is important how as we can as a community be supportive of others.
How we can help and deal with problems in a sensible practical way be strong be listening be educating to your own self and try to pass anything on to those who need a helping hand and words of comfort.
Have knowledge be wise and use the skills and abilities the talents you have to survive each time there are hurdles, obstacles to cross.
If you throw stones in the path do we go around or over or stand still.
I am a Christian use my bible my faith no need for a Church . Pray use meditation and alternative therapies.
Happy to listen to members including yourself anytime.
Like what you write may I add enjoy your insights and hope that helps you to recover, heal and inspire.
Always in prayers and thoughts.
