Hi, my name is Kelly, I’m 45, married with two grown up kids ? that still live at home i was diagnosed in 2007 with rr MS  i was very lucky when first diagnosed as after each relapse after a few months I was back to normal so went down the holistic path. About five years ago I’d started to progress have more relapses and not getting back to normal but I chose to dig myself a big hole instead of dealing with it and stayed there for the next few years, then about 18 months ago I decided to tell family, friends just how bad things were, thankfully one of my very close friends booked me an appointment to see my specialist and took me and I will be forever grateful to her as I’m a very strong lady but also very stubborn ?. Medically it has been so good for me as now I’m getting the help I need. But I came out my denial hole I was told to apply for PIP and universal credit as I don’t work due to my MS, this was April of last year and I’m still waiting for a tribunal date and still waiting to be assessed for universal credits disability add on so I’ll be reading all your stories ? thank you for reading ? - clear

Thank you, I’ve been reading so much stuff on here that’s so close to the same problems I’m having, PIp and universal credit and the way it the system doesn’t work
the stories that I’ve read today and that’s only a handful will help me tremendously with my own claims, My PIP is at the waiting for court date for the claim I made is April 2018
and still waiting for my universal credit to assess me for the disability part and because my husband works and get minimum wage,I’m his complete responsibility it seems, so I’ll continue looking at posts that are similar

    Hi Kelly.
    Please to meet you.
I`ve had my disability for almost 20 years.
Initially I presented as typical PPMS.....had oodles of tests with nothing showing on any to back it up.
I joined the MSUK support group, which I thought was really helpful. Have you tried it?

However, some years later MS was discounted in favour of HSP......then that was discounted also, after a few years.
    I`m now a big fat ?

I am just at the beginning of migration from DLA to PIP.....your benefit story is horrendous.

    love Pollxx

Hi Poll, it nice to meet you ?,
hopefully you won’t need to go through all of this ridicules mess, as you’re on DLA and just switching over. They changed some of the way PIP is handled, and say it’s much easier now, I’ve spoken to my local MP and will bring my case up when parliament returns from their six week holiday ?
Keep us all up to date with your dealings with the DWP fingers crossed you may be the start of the success stories, now our government has sorted these issues, but I’m not holding my breath that they have ☺️

    Take care

    kelly ?

Hi, and thank you all for the welcome and extremely Helpful post I’ve been reading.
yes I sent the form back over a month ago, I’ve asked my work coach how long should it take as I’ve read normally about 16 weeks after you first claim and have sick note fro your GP..but he say not, this is how long it takes.

I’m very lucky, both family and friends have been a great support, but I’m more than lucky when it comes to group of friends can tell me “shut up and do as you’re told “
As I’m confident and strong minded/willed ?. They are the only ones who could say that to me, my poor husband, and family would have got a mouthful ? and I let them know just how much I appreciate them

Hi again Kelly. yeh, it ought to be straightforward when going from DLA to PIP. But I`m afraid it isnt.
I have my f2f assessment on Thursday. Everyone says I`ll be fine, but until I get the award letter, I`m fretting!
    How are you?xx

    Hi @kelly334

Good Afternoon it’s great to meet you today ???

I am also one of the Community Champion’s here at Scope.

I have just come through the “DLA 2 PIP”

My “face 2 face notice” came back looking like someone else’s.

I straightaway sent it back highlighting the discrepancies.

The “DWP” sent me back something that looked more like it.

Please let me know if there’s anything that I can help you with???

    @steve51
