A week or so ago, I had a phone call from BT to see what deal they could do as I am s loyal customer.
As a person with learning difficulties I pointed out to the woman that I prefer the deals by written form so I can take in my own pace. She replied back with, can't you hear at all then.
I put in a complaint to BT and put in links in about learning difficulties.
I got called back from BT today to apologize and agree everyone should have equal rights to deals. She said there are 3 ways for us to apply to tg deals, by the normal way by phone by the account holder, someone calls on your behalf or online. Which ever way you get a confirmation email to which you have 14 days to cancel the deal

Hi @Harp, thank you for sharing this and that's great that you called them out!
I think assumptions are something that happen a lot when you have a disability, with people assuming our ability or the condition that we have.
It is only through awareness (exactly like you did) that these can slowly change.Scope -

Assumptions from others people is part of my life but I will put them straight but it then down to their attitudes to take on board what I said.Everyone has the right to have a say in what ever method they use

This is why awareness is vital. I frequently and gently correct myths at work and in life. Well done! I often tell people this “Even though my son has a physical impairment, he can still understand you”.

Many able bodied people wrongly assume that because someone`s legs dont work, then their brain or mouth doesnt either.
