My son can walk but not huge distances and so we currently use a Maclaren Major. He is getting bigger and we need to start thinking about the next chair for him and don't want to get a wheelchair. Just wondering if anyone has experiences with any pushchairs for older children ?

Hi Natster, Your local wheelchair services should be able to provide advice (they should also be able to advise re "older kid pushchairs"). In Scotland you can phone for advice - perhaps your health visitor can advice how to contact them in your area.0

how old is your child?
some people use the specialneeds three wheelers which go to large sizes eg http://www.specialneedspushchairs.co.uk/babyjogger_independence.htm (5 to 10 years, with a maximum weight limit of 100lbs (45kg). )
but others say that using a wheelchair stops the young person being treated like a baby and makes them more "grown up"0 -
they also doa freedom model "Designed for the older child/young adult 10 years plus with a maximum weight limit of 200lbs (90kg). "

look for other makes too or on ebay/gumtree0 -
