Hi,It can be backdated to the start of the PIP award but this will depend whether they knew your partner was a carer or not.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hi poppy unvical credits knew as I told them that we wear appealing how long does it take to hear from them about carer element
-
It should be paid in your next payment. Any backdated money owed will most likely be paid separately, i have no idea how long that will take.

Hi @tinka1992, what was the date your PIP was awarded from?Community Manager

Hi I applied February got awarded August but my award start from February as I had to do mr

If they new your partner was your carer in February then it should be backdated. If they didn't know then you could have problems with the backdated the carers element, as i've heard this happen many times.

I dont think they knew

When you reported the change online to say he was caring for you, did you put the date as the date the PIP award started @tinka1992?Community Manager

Think so yes but they write back and say it's not but I can ask for appeal of it
-
Has the carer element been added to your current award now @tinka1992? Do you think you will appeal the decision not to backdate?Community Manager

My partner write a note to case manger she has added in but she will send to decison maker to see if it will be backdated or not

Unfortunately, there's no timescales for decisions. Hopefully not too long.
