Not an Elvis fan, not really into music...
    But maybe..
You Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog

The King and me have one thing in common. Favourite sarnies are peanut butter and jello.

See that just proves everyone has a fave Elvis song, Fransrahan isn't an Elvis fan or even a music fan but likes hound dog...

And if that's not enough,  not only does she like Hound Dog but even likes the same butties as the King... :)

*wonders if she's ever eaten the sandwiches whilst actually listening to Hound Dog*...

Hello @MaxB   Thanks for this now your talking my favourite singer.

Started collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia .

Amassed a huge collection of items, books, records and much more.

Continued into my early Twenties and Thirties.

When you collect Elvis there becomes a World Wide interest.

You meet people who have met or worked for Elvis and their memories bring keep his memory music alive.

As with any thing collectable had to sell .

    Favourite song have many.

Memories from The NBC 68 TV special.

If I Can Dream from The same show.

There was also this was cut out but I had this on a VHS copy.

    It Hurts Me.

Which should be shown full. Often hacked and cut to pieces.

Did have a full tape of it all . Much of it was cut and censored.

    Unseen footage and much more.

Cant Help Falling In Love the final song of any Elvis Tour the show.

Mary in The Morning Country flavoured gem.

Moody Blue created at Graceland Recording Studio he had set up.

    From Album Moody Blue.

Lots of that Album old songs and some brilliant recordings.

Burning Love by Red West one of his entourage and friend wrote.

Young and Beautiful from King Creole.

    A haunting love song.

The best film he ever did based on the book by Harold Robbins A Stone For Danny Fisher.

Oscar nominated should have been, stars Carolyn Jones and Walter Mattheu .

Viva Las Vegas made Vegas on the map.  Great shots in the film of the old way Las Vegas used to be, amazing performances and Anne Margret

I Just Can't Help Believing amazing love song feel the emotion. One performed at his shows in The Seventies.

As a Christian Elvis did a lot of Gospel music worth listening to.

I love a lot of these.

Often in his shows. How Great Thou Art stunning.

A fan as you can see, one time has and wish still had every Elvis record produced form the early ones the Albums to the Last ones to Film Sound Tracks. Rare ones, including one Album called Elvis having Fun on Stage.

All it is Elvis humour jokes stories and laughter.

    His shows were all that.

Sometimes more stories and less singing.

One other Elvis was World Wide recording Artist had Albums other countries many rare.

Met a lot of people when growing up and in the Seventies fly out to see him in Concerts in Vegas.

Come back awesome and tales and photos, stories much more.

One other thing the Elvis Presley Foundation set up by the family.

Does a lot of charity work abroad and here and in States.

Continues the traditions and customs he ever did in his life.

One other poignant sadness the Memphis Mafia his friend his entourage did a documentary few years a go or may be longer.

The final ones as they all passed after that.

Understand hope this is some interest for you.

Always  TBC as he ever did.

    Your Elvisly

@spiceman..he's the best isn't he...I watched that Memphis mafia documentary, very interesting...I visited Graceland in 2012, I was actually moved to tears when the coach drove up to the entrance and 'welcome to my world' was coming out of outside speakers.

Also went to sun studios, stax soul museum and had 2 days in Nashville...it was totally awesome.

Hello @MaxB   Thank you for sharing great hear.

This is fantastic always wanted to go , been to The Elvis Museum they set up in Blackpool.

    Around Eighties.

I am in middle Fifties had and still do the other interest Soul Man I am Motown, Northern Soul  Stax got Otis on right now.

Met some of the lesser know or not so well know stars of Motown many resided over here.

Used to go the All weekenders Northern Soulers keep the faith and meet a lot of the older generation talking either about Elvis or Soul music.

A lot of connections.  People forget that.

Met some young people never heard of Elvis.  In a mental health charity.

    Shocking.

A good education they got that day.

Never a day goes by plays something of this era of history.

Always in my head, helps me  mentally.

Especially going out as I sing a song to myself as curious shoppers hear Elvis or Otis some find it weird some find it amusing but helps me.

Pleasure to talk to you, anytime.

All that and I can remember what I was doing the day Elvis died. On a day trip to Margate with my parents, a coach trip.
He was a bit special wasnt he. Even as a non-Elvis, non-music loving person.

    Hello @Franstrahan   Elvis films.

Love Me Tender first one with Richard Egan

He never watched it he dies. His Mother hated it.

Loving You.  Scenes show his Mother in the audience never liked that one at all.

    Jailhouse Rock

    King Creole
The best one ever did brooding the line Honey you just bring the beast out of me says it all.

Look for errors on scene singing on a pavilion, Scotty Moore wears sun glasses then does not.

In another excerpt from the song.

    Actual Film for James Dean.

GI Blues.  Elvis in the Army.

Viva Las Vegas with Anne Margret. Love this one, great shots of how Vegas was in the Sixties.

    Kissin Cousins.

    Blue Hawaii

Harem Scarem awful and this was period of films been critical and had serious problems not wishing to do.

    Tickle Me

It Happened At The Worlds Fair with a young Kurt Russell kicking Elvis in the shins.

    Clambake

    Double Trouble

    Girl  Happy

    Girls, Girls, Girls.

    Easy Come Easy Go.

Charro Western themed film not his usual best worth a look to see Elvis unshaven and a beard.

Then by Seventies did Elvis on Tour and That Is The Way It is. The first time showed Elvis the music the performance doing his Vegas shows.

I had an original copy of this.  On old VHS and Betamax.

    Reissued later.

Also Elvis did 29 pictures some have not and can not recall some of them, awful terrible he given the chance did not wish to do these but a million a picture.

Plus percentages and profits bought in huge income.

Got offered the Star Is Born and was going to  appear with Barbara Streisand.

Colonel interfered, as same with The Rain Maker another role .

It is believed as many of the soundtracks now collectable most in fact it is claimed all got Gold Discs sold a Million.

A few bits of interest for you.

Yes, thanks @thespiceman. I never realised he made so many films as all that lot. My parents were both movie lovers, probably more '40s stuff though I think. Dad was into Humphrey Bogart films, I remember.

Hello @MaxB    Went had a look my extensive CD Collection on Elvis.

The Only way now for us Collectors found that missed a few songs one for our Community.

Should be our anthem the Community.

Walk a Mile In My Shoes.

Lyrics  Before you criticise  accuse and abuse walk a mile in my shoes.

All about the disadvantages of race, colour creed and society differences.

Met the song writer Eddie Rabbit seriously that is his name.

Wrote Kentucky Rain a country flavoured hit.

Asked about Elvis in the Eighties a lot of the Singer Song writers of The Sixties, Seventies played to venues and small places.

Seen a few that write the songs we all love of those times.

Humble people getting the song published the main issues. People do not realise royalties on publishing air play is controlled.

Often a small percentage of the records air time and royalties.

Although some exceptions, Elvis being one insisted paying 5% on every song the writer wrote.

Those days an increased amount helping the struggling song writer.

Tall with a beard if I can just recall.

Wrote a lot of songs for other artists.  .

Talking previous post gospel music that is what Elvis liked to sing, wanted to be one.

Not a Rock and Roll Singer early years as many from that part of America. The Church the main focus the singers came from there and spread the Lord s Word doing these amazing songs.

Not Hymns but songs about Jesus the Lord the Bible.

Jordinaires are a gospel group Elvis backing group in the Fifties, early Sixties.

JD and the Stamps and also another one.

One other Elvis his upbringing was around the Black People of America poor and in poverty.

One of the few artists to have promote their interests and ideals, as in America a lot of problems.  At that time.

Some thing he did the  same with Country Music.

Helped many artists. Was helping advising The Osmond's would ring the family members offer advice and be supportive.

Many stories around Elvis sometimes hard to believe its been 43 yrs this year he died.

People, fans memory keeping the music he created alive fantastic.
