I have just bought a battery potato peeler. I didn't know you could get them until I saw them in a catalogue a few days ago. I had mashed potato for my tea last night for the first time in years!

Hi @Ami2301. I having problems gripping things and get severe cramp in my hands which made things like using a normal peeler or can opener almost impossible, I have also got a gadget to help me open bottles and jars!

I have poor grip too, I tend to stay away from the kitchen as its just one big hazard to me. Maybe one day! Keep letting us know if you find anymore handy gadgetsDisability Gamechanger - 2019

Hi @Ami2301. I will let you know if I find anymore gadgets. (anything to make our leaves easier)!

@deb74 Thanks for sharing this with us, I tend to buy ready peeled potatoes or even ready made mash, the frozen one is ok too if you add a little butter, milk and seasoning. Enjoy your new gadget and of course more mash

This is a useful post!
I have gotten helpful advice on mobility aids from my son's therapists in the past. I think that we should have a helpful aids thread on here as well. What sort of aids would you recommend for someone who has no lower body function at all?
My son has virtually no leg function. I want to teach him cookery but I do not know where to begin. Any tips and recommendations welcome. He is a total paraplegic with flaccid paralysis due to open spina bifida. I cannot just stand him on a stool like his twin sister and force him to help me.
Gardening is a bit easier as he can sit in his wheelchair and help me.
