Hi, I'm confused as to why people with CP are considered vulnerable in this Coronavirus outbreak. Any Ideas?

    HI and welcome,

It really depends on how affected you are by CP. If you are one of those in the at risk group then you will receive a letter in the next couple of days from your GP. This letter will advise you to self isolated for 12 weeks.

If you don't receive the letter then you're not in the at risk group. They are in the process of sending out 1.5 million letters and some have already received their letter.

Other than that i'm afraid we are not medical professionals and won't be able to advise you.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Thanks. I haven't received the letter yet. I was told by my employer that I must not go to work for twelve weeks. Luckily I'm a civil servant so I am not affected by losing pay, but I'm generally fit and healthy and over the years have had very little time off sick.

If you haven't received the letter within the next couple of days it likely you won't receive it and this will mean you're not in the most at risk group. I know the letters are being sent now.

Hi @SnapperPhilBS11, great to virtually meet you. We have information about CP and Covid-19 that you might find useful. @poppy123456 is correct in saying that the risk is dependant on how CP affects you. As CP affects everybody living with it differently, it's difficult for a government to write bespoke advice.
