Hi I’m Richard 46 years old and new to this site , I claim universal credit and lower mobility rate at moment , for which I have herniated lower back disc , sciatica . The last 6 months I now have neck herniated discs and in to much pain to do many day to day chores etc , depression set in ?  my story’s probably the same as many of yourselves , just wanted to ask if I can apply for higher pip now and if I can get any other benefits , thank you try and enjoy your day , thanks ,

    There are two rates of PIP. Remember that the whole benefit is based on your ability to do the following activities:

    eating
    drinking
    walking
    cooking
    bathing
    taking medications
    using a toilet
    communicating
    reading
    dressing and undressing
    mixing with others
    dealing with money 
    staying safe


    Citizen's Advice can help you with the application form filling process. There is also a helpful guide to assist you with the forms on their website, take a look at the link below. Make sure to answer all the questions honestly. Provide a list of examples too to back up your claim. If you need to, write in the additional information box. Give as much as information as possible. Send the forms via secure recorded delivery.

    Make a photocopy of any appointment letter. Send it off with the application form. Types of evidence allowed include a report, a care plan or a appointment letter. Jot down any medications, test results etc. Include information on any aids you need to use. State what they are in the extra information box. Describe the nature of your impairment or condition. For example if you need help because you are dyslexic, explain what this is and how it affects you.
