    Hi and welcome,

Is this for PIP or the work capability assessment?
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

If you kept a copy of the form that you filled in then have a read of that before the assessment. Part of the assessment will be for you to verify what you wrote in the form. The rest of it will be for any other information they ask. Questions vary depending on how your conditions affect you. You may get asked the same question multiple times but in varous ways, it often feels like they are trying to catch you out when this happens. You may get asked how your conditions affect you on a typical day.

The phone call can last anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes, sometimes longer.

If you live in the UK wait a week after the assessment and then ring DWP to request a copy of the report to be sent to you this will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be because they mostly go with the report.

    Good luck.

Hi river how are you and welcome . I had mines yesterday as janer mentioned . Is there any thing in particular you wanted to know ? My disability is mental only not physical  , I had my partner with me  Which was a huge help . I got asked things like bout my house they wanted to know how many stair cases I had ect , what sort of school did I go too . I got asked the same question many times but in different ways , they asked me things that I had put on my form , they asked a lot of reasons behind things as well . Mines went on for nearly 2 hours . She wanted to know all bout my medication , what consultants I was under what specialist , how I manage bills and money , how iam with getting dresses and washing .

they wanted to know quite a lot I found the call difficult I kept putting my partner on the phone abc she would want to speak to me .

If you have pets they will ask you how you look after them ect . Ask you who you speak to on the phone and how often how you are at seeing people face to face . I can’t asked a lot if I used the internet , if I go out where do I go when I go out where was the last place I went too .

They asked me if I had been in hospital and I had to mention why that was and that was before I didn’t want to live so I was taken to a and e by my partner and I was assessed by the mental health team . They do ask a lot like why thighs are ect and stuff like that . My my questioned were designed for my illlness so I can only say what I was asked .

If you can have some one there with you that be better for the support if not we are all here .

I kept asking when she be off the phone because I was getting really anxious .
