Hi all,
I have just been awarded carers for my 4yo, he is going back to preschool in September, last yr I was awarded 30hrs free childcare as I am self employed and was planning to be earning over 135 a week, I dont earn that now so claimed carers, would carers allowance be counted as an income to claim the 30hrs free childcare?
I'm so confused!

HI and welcome,Were you claiming this as part of a couple or a single parent? If it's part of a couple then yes the carers allowance will count along with your partner working. See link and scroll down to treated as in qualifying paid work. https://revenuebenefits.org.uk/tax-free-childcare/guidance/who-can-claim/eligibility-conditions/paid-work/#what counts as employed incomeI can't see anything about qualifying with the carers allowance if you're a single parent though.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
