In Search For True Love

Hello fellow Scope members,

I thought to myself and felt I should ask this question on this platform and of course, I might get a genuine and helpful answer here.

My question is this: Where can, or do I find True Love with a Lady, regardless of her age or nature?

Been lonely for so long and I feel the need to come out of my shell and experience true love.

I believe True love comes from the inside and not the outward look of a woman.

Looking forward to your positive advice and contributions.

Thanks.
@amsofly

    Hi @amsofly

I can understand you wanting to find true love and someone to share your life with after feeling lonely for a while.  I hope our community can help you :)

It can be particularly difficult to come into contact with potential romantic partners.  I wonder, do you have any hobbies or interests?  You could maybe join a club where like-minded people go so you meet new people  What do you think about that?

Another idea @amsofly is you could sign up with the Outsiders Club https://www.outsiders.org.uk/outsidersclub/  This is a free group for disabled people which you can use for dating or to socialise and meet new friends.  It's something to think about!

HI True love is truly hard to find but not impossible but it may take a few hits and misses before you find the right one

I would say if you can get out and meet people face to face this would be the best option. But there is also online dating sites but there are risks of using them as they are full of a lot of scammers and fakes who target vulnerable to exploit them

Saying that I used a dating site to meet my now partner so there are some good ones out there

I'm so grateful @janer1967, for your kind advice. Just like you rightly said, most of these dating site have posses a very high risk, not too good in recent times.

I believe there are pretty nice people here, who are also looking for love as myself.  Not giving up just yet tho.

Hi @amsofly - I've recommended the Outsiders club to other members, as it seems more of a safe environment in which to meet people. I don't know when they'll start up, but they also hold lunches where members can meet, & one of the Scope team said he'd heard those were very good. They also have online chats.
You have absolutely the right idea, that love comes from the inside; that's what matters. I hope you find your 'one.' :)

I don't envy anyone trying to find true love, the situation is more complicated for us than most but never easy for anyone. Personally I gave up on the idea years ago after I met and married my Soul Mate only to find out that from her point of view I was a convenient blank cheque. I did meet someone else but I got ill before it really got going and she left. I have resisted temptation ever since, lol!

I have tried a few dating sites (disabled and non-) but found the people on them sadly lacking in honesty and even less impressive was the number of people who no longer seemed to use the sites but their profiles remained (presumably to make the numbers look better). Most paid for sites tend to be cheap or free for women but expensive for men but the free sites can be very dodgy indeed.

Realistically it would likely be better to get out with groups of like-minded people and there are many ways to do that. At least that way you know they will look like themselves and not some convenient much better looking photo. You can also get a better idea of the person inside that way too because a lot of people think that anonymity can cover up flaws without considering that they are hoping to see that person f2f at some point. I remember one guy I spoke to telling me he had 4 profiles up on a site all with different ages but the same picture (which was taken younger than any of the profiles) and, from what I discovered either women do the same thing or you get bombarded by foreigners wanting to look after you (presumably expecting their fares paid).

    Good luck.

    TK
