Similar to the buzz words, I don't like persuasive words in ads...

When someone advertises a tiny studio flat as 'boasting a spacious open plan lifestyle' I immediately assume the rest of ad is all lies as well.  :D

Not to mention an 80k commuter car ad stating that it's in 'mint condition' and 'drives like a new car'...  I've had over 40 used cars.  Not one has ever driven like a new car...and I'd be extremely disappointed to buy a new car and find it drives like an 80k Insignia...  :D

What's worse is that the majority of people must be enticed by this rubbish otherwise they wouldn't do it!!  :p
I assume you are familiar with the word “cosy” which basically means small!

Apparently Apple employees are given a kind of thesaurus of words not to say when dealing with computer problems, with alternative words to say instead!

Another one I don’t get with cars is when they say “female owner” or “elderly owner” like that’s automatically a good thing. I know plenty of people who abuse cars regardless of their age or gender and plenty who look after them well. Often (not always) “chavvy” looking cars are owned by people who really like their car and keep it in good nick. I would rather a car owned by a young male enthusiast who looked after it than a little old lady who abused the clutch and never took the engine above 2500RPMs. :D

That said for balance my brother’s first car was owned by an elderly lady who had it serviced every year even though she’d only done 500 miles in it and it was in beautiful condition.
Haha, yep!  And 'low maintenance garden' usually means a 6ft square slab of concrete!  'Situated on a popular development' means overpopulated estate where you can barely squeeze a car though.  'Generous double bedroom' means you might just be able to fit a wardrobe in as well as a bed.  There are loads of them!  :D

Yes, 'one careful lady owner' is another one that winds me up...just makes me assume the clutch is knackered, the DPF is blocked and there'll be dents on scrapes on every corner.  I'd rather not know who previously owned any car I'm buying!   :p

What a relief to be able to blurt my unpopular opinion...

Mine? The people who cant take their eyes off their phone when they are with me every notification ping they are onto it ..yet when i send them a message  they dont answer for days or at all ( have a family member in mind) ..
I have no problem if they are expecting something important.but otherwise makes me feel like im wasting their time or an incovenience or just not important.
One friend( i did it kindly) i just said " i can see you are really busy so ill let you get on" stood to get up and leave..she hasnt done it since..

    @Eliz31abeth

I have to say, not unpopular with me, I agree!

I have a family member who gets mad if people use their phones while she is around them, but, if you are talking to her she is the first to get her phone out when it makes a noise!

Like you I wouldn’t mind if it was an ill family member or an urgent business deal but it’s always a family member sharing a picture of their dinner.

Unpopular opinion 1: Football is overrated, most of the big name footballers get paid FAR too much, I mean come on, £20,000 a week to kick a plastic ball round a field for 90 mimutes? That's  a serving PC's annual Salary and their job's a LOT more dangerous!

Unpopular opinion 2: All Elite Wrestling sucks, full of "Vanilla [removed by moderator]" who think they can fly, and also full of former WWE mid carders who Tony Khan thinks he can push to the Moon to "stick it" to Vince McMahon and WWE in general.

Unpopular opinion amongst car enthusiasts - I quite like the idea of an electric car! No gears to worry about, 4p a mile in fuel costs, instant acceleration, less moving parts to go wrong...

@66Mustang I’ve no doubt that the government will find a new tax for electric cars to compensate for the billions lost in fuel sales.

something I don’t like is ice cream sellers wearing gloves to sell ice creams but then also take and give change wearing the same gloves, very unhygienic. I’m surprised they are allowed to do it frankly.

@leeCal I agree and have tried to say this to family members and friends in the past!

Fuel costs £5 per gallon, of which about £3-£3.50 is pure tax (in the USA where there is no tax fuel is about £1.50 a gallon), so an average 40mpg car is spending 12.5p a mile of which about 8p of that is tax.

That means by 2030 they will likely introduce a road charge of 8p per mile travelled (probably more knowing the government!) to recoup the lost revenue. That will likely apply to all cars - combustions as well as electrics - as well.

I still don’t mind the idea of an electric car in the interim though and think they could be good fun.

Haha, these are so true! We're trying to move at the moment and the misleading garden descriptions definitely took me by surprise. There was one that boasted an 'intimate and low maintenance garden' and it was essentially a 4ft wide alleyway running across the back of the house. Lovely!

Unpopular opinion 1: WWE "Legend" The Undertaker should've retired undefeated at Wrestle Mania, the 2 "blemishes" on the Streak, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, should be wiped from the record books IMO.

Unpopular opinion 2: Kevin Nash should not have defeated Goldberg at Starrcade 1998, it was bad enough he won the match and ended Goldberg's undefeated Streak of over 200 matches, but with interference from the balance of the New World Order? How about no?! If WCW had to end the Streak they could've at least give Goldberg a clean finish.

Cleethorpes should be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up, it hasn't changed in over 30 years.

Yeah don't get me wrong I love it, I lived at 16 Taylor's Avenue there during my Student years but it's a bit of a quaint little Town, like just down the road in Grimsby it's not very modern, even the games in the Arcades are about 25 years out of date.

I disagree that GPS in lots of locations are still not doing face to face consultations (mine included). All other people if they cant work from home are going into work, all our teachers are expected to work and our children go to school yet the GP are not seeing patients.

I agree with telephone consultations where they are all that is required but feel people are going to A&E rather than the GP knowing they will see a doctor, but this is just clogging up our over stretched hospitals

People should need special permission to cut down any tree or large bush. We need more trees and bushes imo to help with global warming and wildlife in general.

I agree @janer1967 especially as there are people who can’t have a phone appointment like me.

That’s a good one @leeCal. my brother is a tree surgeon but I think he would agree with you, his worst jobs are “clearance” jobs where you have to cut down a tree or bush, he prefers to tend to them.

Nope, blame idiots who think all old people should be in care Homes, even worse, people who think all disabled people should've been drowned at birth.
