Hi
I'm a little bit confused with the info about pip assessments is regua4d to the Governments decion to stop reassessments for some clients.
My current award was due to end August 2021 so I had expected review probably August this year.
However, I'll reach pension age of 66 early July of this year before my current award runs out.
Due to Corona virus I have received a letter from DWP to say that my current award has been extended to May 2023.
Will I still be reassessed after I reach my Pension age under new Government guidelines as there seems to be conflicting information in the WEB
Regards
John

@KAKADU I am glad you asked the question mine has been awarded and done and from what I gather I won't be reviewed for ten years now which is ok
I wanted to know what age can you claim pip up to is there a certain age when you cant claim it anymore -
Hi I don't think you can claim pip after pension age. That's of course if you were not receiving it prior to reaching your pension age. I have read that there maybe ways around this rule. Via an article on line. I think it was Express.co.uk
-
HI,PIP doesn't just stop once you reach state pension age, providing you have an award it continues for as long as you remain entitled to it. The 10 year award will benefit pensioners whose personal circumstances are unlikely to change. If you award is to be extended to the 10 years then you will be contacted. Otherwise your review will take place as normal.See link. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/thousands-of-pensioners-to-benefit-from-pip-assessment-overhaul

@poppy123456 my award takes me up to pension age as its just been award again for ten years so I am happy with that
-
@lisathomas50 a ten year award is unusual in 2018 83% of all a wards were for 3.5 years or less.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

@woodbine my award was done in November and ran from 2014 to 2020 so when it came back I didnt understand what on going meant so I phoned them and she said if its necessary I will be reviewed in ten years
-
As I understand it, it could still be reviewed during that period.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

@woodbine the last time I was reviewed where I was asked questions was the year 1999 the next award I received was 2014 then this one now 2020 I have only ever been awarded only one review it used to say something else I did phone to see what it meant and they said it would run for ten years I think poppy told me the same as it it used to say indefinite but now it says ongoing
-
Indefinite awards were only for DLA. 1999 would have been DLA not PIP. PIP wasn't introduced until April 2013. The longest award for PIP is ongoing, which is 10 years.

@poppy123456 I just rolled over to pip from dla I just received a letter saying I was being changed to pip which I am now ongoing on pip which is 10 years as I said to @woodbine I rolled from 1999 to 2014 then 2014 to 2020 from 2020 on going which is ten years
-
@lisathomas50 When people were moved from DLA to PIP they were invited to apply for PIP in the normal way, I can absolutely assure you that NO ONE was "rolled over".

Indeed, it's wasn't an automatic switch over.

Well I can assure you I was all i received was a letter and I had a phone call asking if my specialist report still stood I said yes I was on high rate mobility and care now I am enhanced rate mobility and care unless you class thst as a review
-
Paper based assessments are rare but definitely possible and if you had no face to face assessment at the time then it was a paper based assessment you had. This isn't the same as an automatic switch over.
