Hi I'm nicnocs! What happens after tribunal application? What's the waiting time in different areas?

Hi I applied for pip in August. I got turned down and 0 points I was shocked as I suffer from severe depression and anxiety and am basically housebund. So I asked for a MR and came back the same 0 points.
I have now decided to take it to tribunal. I felt so upset and judged my someone who said I was fine by just a phone call.
I contacted citizens advice and I have someone to represent me. Alot of the info on the MR was wrong and she has done a good letter and sent it off to tribunal.
My question is will DWP look at it again before tribunal?
Whats happens next after tribunal application?
Also is the waiting times different for different areas?
Due to my mental health i feel like I can't move on with anything until this is sorted. Its constantly on my mind.

    hi @nicnocs and welcome to scope, glad you found us.
    It has been known for the DWP to make an offer just before the tribunal hearing.
    But it's now best to concentrate on your appeal with the help CAB are offering.

    Yes waiting times are different in each area but as they are currently done mainly by phone the waiting times have reduced 

    B4 it could be anything in excess of 12 month wait the last I heard it was about 37 weeks average but that changes all time and again just an average

    im sorry to hear about your experience with assessment and MR. I really do hope that your application is successful at the tribunal and you get the money you deserve. I myself suffer from depression, anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, agoraphobia. I’m awaiting assessment next week. I completely understand how you must be feeling; people don’t seem to appreciate what having a mental illness is like. 

    May I ask, did you send any specialist input with your application? For example, counselling or therapy sessions, medication list etc?

    Yes I sent in a doctors letter. A report from my councillor giving the diagnosis of severe depression and anxiety. 
    Also my medication on 200mg daily of setriline (highest dose) and 10mg of diazepam daily.
    Also back in early part of 2020 I phoned social services as I need help with my children and myself. Family help got involved with me and also provided evidence.
    I sent in 2 specialist letters from neurology and cardiology as I'm under investigation due to low blood pressure.
    CAB have said they have taken no notice really and alot of what they had in the MR report was not correct.
    And don't even get me started on being able to drive a manual car stuff ?

    It’s really worrying and sad to see how these assessors treat people with mental health issues. I also applied for pip in 2019 but after getting rejected following a face2face assessment I just gave up as I was feeling so depressed and dejected after looking at the report. If only people knew how miserable it feels having to live with a mental illness. 
    How are you managing with the kids and what sort of support do you get with that? I’m over 30 and still can’t even think of having kids as I can’t even manage my own self let alone another human being ?
    my husband really wants kids but he knows I can’t take care of them and we’re worried that it might mean that the kid is taken away from us ?

    I applied back in 2015 and gave up like you for the same reasons.
    My anxiety started back in 2004 and I self meditated with alcohol for 9 years. My 2 children went to live with my mum.
    Back in 2016 they came back to live with me. My eldest has serveve mental illness too. Many suicide attempts. My depression got worse.
    Then at the beginning of last year my other daughter was having anger issues thats when I contacted social services as I also have a 3 year old.
    I then discovered she was being a victim of sexual abuse. And now have an ongoing police investigation to deal with.
    Family help have been there for us throughout all this by giving suggestions like opening up to each other and expressing our feelings daily.
    But all of this has been a nightmare for me. I've tried to be strong on the outside for them but inside I'm slowly dying.
    Hopelessness is the word.
    Mental health being a hidden illness is just awful.
    I totally understand hiw u feel x

    My daughter was with chams now receiving adult psychotherapy.
    My other daughter is getting victim support as am I.
