Does anyone know a counselling service in Northamptonshire specialising in epilepsy?

I'm having difficulty finding a counsellor specialising in epilepsy and wondered if you would benefit from one trained in chronic illness more generally.  You could try self-referring to a local NHS psychological therapy service and in your initial assessment they would advise if anyone in their team/any of their services could help.

While, there is always the option of paying privately (prices generally start upwards from £40 an hour).  The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy have a 'search for a therapist' webpage that allows you to look locally.  In the search tool you can enter a specific problem or specialism however again you might have more joy searching with 'health' or 'chronic illness'. 

Besides these, there are mental health helplines/organisations you can contact anytime should you feel that your thoughts are overwhelming, they are:

• SHOUT by texting 'SHOUT' to 85258 to speak to a trained crisis volunteer
