Hi, my name is Lanie_78! I have questions about appealing an EHCP decision.
Options
Hello, need some advice.
I applied for an EHC assessment for my daughter, it was refused on the basis she has no educational need. Yet they're fully aware she has medical needs. At the time of application she wasn't at preschool because it was delayed due to covid19 and getting things in place for her to start.
She's within the setting now and starts school in September. I have a mediation certificate.
How long does the appeal process take? Would it be quicker to apply for another assessment?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Lanie_78 and a warm welcome to our online community.
Covid-19 has made so many processes challenging and I'm sorry it's made this one tricky for you too. Unfortunately, I don't have specialist knowledge in this area but there are SEN organisations that can help.
One is the Independent Provider of Special Education Advice (IPSEA) and they have webpages on how to submit an appeal and what happens after you submit an appeal. While to get more personalised advise, particular to your circumstances, you could try booking a free call-back from their advice line.
Equally you could contact the following:
These links take you to webpages that show contact/helpline details.
I hope that helps and your daughter is able to access the support she needs in her settings asap. Please let us know how you get on.
Also, just to advise - I've tweaked your post title to help others spot it and anticipate what it's about, and also moved your post to our Education and learning categoryOnline Community Co-ordinator
