Hi, I'm joby2010! Will my sons PIP be considered part of my finance during divorce?

I am desperately trying to find if my sons PIP award is included in my finances that need to be disclosed as part of a tricky divorce proceeding between myself and my sons dad? Many thanks in advance.

    Hi @joby just wanted  to  welcome  you to the forum. Sorry your going through a messy devorce. I don't have the answer to your question, someone might soon, there is a lot of  information on google but I'm presuming you've already researched.

    Hi @joby2010 - welcome to the community. Your son's PIP award is totally separate from your own finances, so please don't be worried on that score. With the financial disclosure forms that both you & your son's dad will have to go through you just have to list what monies you each have in any bank accounts, or building societies, these will not include your son's PIP monies. If you & your son's dad have any joint accounts, then you just list half of this. Hope this helps.

    Hello @joby2010 and a warm welcome to our community.

    I hope @chiarieds has put your mind at ease that your son's PIP wouldn't need to be included, or disclosed, in the financial statement.  You might find Advicenow's 'Fill in your financial statement (form E) without the help of a lawyer' guidance or video handy for as you fill in the form.

    Just to put your mind at rest your sons PIP award will not be taken into account reference to your income in deciding your divorce settlement.

    Have you spotted the replies to your original post? Hopefully, that's helped to put your mind at rest about your son's PIP award and the financial disclosure for your divorce?
