Fed up of anxiety

Im so fed up now of anxiety, I know alot of you suffer with it as well. I'm messaging drs on Monday. So I'm sat out side Costa today when a voice says, are you safe sat here? I'm like ignore it. Then I look at the bus and think what if it veers towards the coffee shop.

Thanks all I've had it for awhile, but it's just getting stupid now. Im ok if I'm out with someone and ok once I'm home. Even a car journey raises anxiety but not on a bus. Plus the chances of a stationed bus veering to the coffee shop is just zero option.

I know you meant that in jest but in my experience they use tablets as a last resort after trying other things like talking therapy, CBT etc.
I kind of wish they’d throw some tablets my way… -

Thanks for asking - yes I think it is as I’ve tried all the talking therapies and CBT etc. It is actually something my psychiatrist said he could consider, but not whilst I was drinking so much as apparently the alcohol would mess with the meds. I have since cut down my drinking to what he suggested and I’m due to see him in about a month so fingers crossed he will be able to prescribe something.

@Sandy_123 talking therapy helped a little but in my case not any significant amount. I think maybe the skills I have learnt would help in combination with medication though if that makes sense. I can’t really explain what we went over as it would take several pages and I still wouldn’t say it very well but it wasn’t entirely useless. If they suggest talking therapy I’d urge you to try it as different people respond differently to it. -
Its perfectly usual to have interfering thoughts especially anxious thoughts, It’s a question of degree. If the degree is extreme then the GP is the way to go initially imo.

Sorry to hear you're battling with anxiety @Sandy_123, speaking with your GP tomorrow sounds like a good idea and hopefully they will be able to help you.

Thanks @Tori_Scope I didn't fill the econsult today as I have a important zoom call tomorrow morning and I was worried the Dr may ring at same time, so I'll do it after that.
