Hi everyone I’m looking for recommendations for easy to use fill and push bags on wheels for my 18 year old son to take to university to carry his laptop books etc. He has Athetoid CP grade 2 on the gross motor function classification guide and I’m thinking he’d find it better to push than to pull with an element of stability to aid his walking snd easy to load so he’s not dropping his laptop or iPad in. Also if possible to not look like he’s borrowed it from his granny. ?

Has he looked at upright, arm rest wheeled walkers? Topro Troja is one example. They fold vertically so can be just used walking alongside, or if need be can provide a way to push a week's groceries uphill, by leaning your weight on your forearms. They give an instant seat, and though I would never suggest such a thing they can be used for speeding, and as a makeshift wheelchair (I didn't say that!)
For everyday loads such as laptop etc. the standard bag is fine and it is just a black mesh net between the two sides of the black mesh seat. Not grannyish. You get a load of bungees and improvise ways to sling large and heavy loads under the seat and in front and behind and on top of it. (For centre of gravity, the lower the weight the less likely to tip over)
And I flatly deny I suggested any such thing!! New ones are dear. On the other hand, it does mean something which will last for years and save many a taxi fare and many a being-left-out, and serve more than one purpose. Only you and he know if a pushing trolley would do just as well.
If so, the most useful granny-look -avoiding gadget I have along those lines is a light fold up travel- luggage version of a porters trolley. Again, with plenty of bungees,to keep iit firmly in place, it just gives a platform to lift whatever ordinary rucksack or sports bag off the ground. And again, rather precariously, it can be asked to take a silly amound of overloading in event of a grocery shop. And again, I never advocated that!

Thank you newborn I’ll have a good look at that with him tomorrow. I’m sure he will use it very responsibly especially in freshers week. ?0

Hi @KittyTinker
I have friends that use walkers, similar to the ones that newborn has suggested but they have customised them with different paint jobs and grips etc.0 -
Thanks Richard he’d love that he’s always creating liveries for his PlayStation F1 cars.0
