I'm sure that you will get there gradually with coming to terms with your diagnosis, it can take a while and feel a bit overwhelming but you'll be okay I'm sure. Ensure you access the specialists that you're dealing with if you ever need to know anything, and of course the members on the community will be as supportive as we can.

Welcome to the community @yvojo28 I have had peripheral neuropathy for 12 years now. I found it really difficult to adjust to for quite a while, but over the years I've realised that I've gotten used to it.

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome. Iv just had my diagnosis tge neurologist said it has occurred due to having chemotherapy as I had breast cancer. I'm not sure what to expect will happen with this. At the moment it's my feet which feel like lead weights and my legs which are swollen and knees are very painful. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @yvojo28 - I'm sorry about the symptoms you're suffering. I'm wondering if putting your feet up may help with the swelling in your legs. By this I mean put your feet up higher than your heart, then pull your feet up (which helps your calf muscles pump the blood back to the heart), & also circle your feet around, one way, then the other. I know this helped me enormously after I fractured my hip, & my whole leg became swollen; it did take 3 weeks to improve.

You're very welcome @yvojo28 - I hope it helps. I knew what to do about swollen legs due to my physio background; I don't know if it will help, but hope so. The above exercise won't harm, but if it doesn't help, please do also go back to your GP about this, or any other concerns.
