Hi i have a council tax debt with my ex will this debt stop or affect me moving? As paying it off will take 10months ?

Are you thinking it might stop you renting privately? As long as the debt continues to be repaid I don't see a problem.2024 The year of the general election...the time for change is coming 💡

If you are looking at social housing then a council tax debt can affect your application
I used to work for social housing and they would only put you on lowest band if there was a debt for council tax but I think this is down to each council
For private rent it could show up in the credit check -
It would be for social housing I'm paying 50 a month to pay my half of it off as that's all I can afford and I worked it out that it will take 10 months to clear...
