Hi, I'm pat76! I'm looking at electric scooters. Is there anything I can do to get a VAT exemption?

i have copd and cant walk but a few paces so my husband pushes me in a wheelchair, he now has a bad back and so we are looking at electric scooters i am registered as disabled at ableworld but is there anything else i need to do to get a vat exemption as this would be a big help.

    You might find this page on VAT exemptions on the gov.uk website helpful, as it outlines who, and what items, can be VAT-exempt. 

    Perhaps you could give that a read, and then let us know whether you have any further questions? 

    I hope that getting an electric wheelchair gives you some more independence! I also hope that your husband's back pain reduces soon :)
