My son finishes university in the summer will my benefits be reduced when he starts working when he returns home?

Does your UC include any help with rent? If so do you rent privately or from a housing association/local authority?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Yes it does and it’s private rent

So if your housing element is less than your rent the help you get may increase because you will be entitled to a bedroom for him (if one isn’t included already).
If your PIP includes Daily Living then he will not be expected to make a contribution towards the rent.
Whether or not it affects Council Tax Reduction will depend on the rules for your local authority.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
