Hi me and my partner made a claim for UC on 28/12/2020 and my partner gets lcwra on top of our UC ive been waiting 14 months for health assessment as I'm not fit for work I've just had health assessment and been told I've been awarded lcwra but won't receive any extra or back pay as your only allowed 1 lcwra on a UC claim is this right I'm confused.thank you

Yes, only 1 LCWRA element can be paid per claim. McNair35 said:Hi yes my partner was already receiving lcwra and we both get enhanced rate daily living pipThat means you won't be owed any money for LCWRA element.However, you can claim the Carers element of UC for looking after your partner (unless someone else claims this or carers allowance) which will increase your UC by £163.73 per month. This would mean your partner claims LCWRA and you claim carers element.You need to "report a change of circumstances" then report being a carer.

It's very difficult to get the carers element backdated if you didn't report being a carer when you started your claim. There's no harm in putting a note on your journal under the payments section to ask but don't get your hopes up.
