We have the big meal with 8 people coming up in a few mins so really nervous at the moment, also my family member is cranky today so I’m nervous about that too. Hopefully will be better once they have some champagne inside them (they calm down after a drink).

@chiarieds just wondering if your book arrived safe and sound and have you had a look at it yet. You have probably finished it by now :D please don’t spoil the ending :D:)

Hoping all goes well @66Mustang - & thank you, the book arrived safely yesterday. If I can finish putting some more plants in the garden, I'll probably start it after that, then we can compare notes. :)

Hi @66Mustang - hope your meal yesterday went well & you did OK..... so long as the grumpy one's glass was kept topped up! I started 'The Housekeeper and the Professor' this afternoon. It's the sort of book that pulls you in straight away, & is hard to put down....up to p120 so far, & so pleased you mentioned it. :)

Thanks @chiarieds. She’s just set off for home now so I am very relieved. I got through it all OK but did struggle quite a bit.

I’m really glad you are liking the book. I agree it pulls you in and is hard to put down. In the past I have only been able to read a couple of pages of text at a time but I managed to read a couple of chapters of this one in one go, I seem to forget about my issues and am able to just concentrate on the book. :)

Just bought a few things from a farm shop - butter, yoghurt and cheese - as my treat for this time :p

I really like farm shop food and can really tell the difference in quality. I wish I could afford to do all my shopping there but then if I did that I guess I wouldn’t appreciate it!

That sounds like a lovely treat @66Mustang I used to go to a lovely farm shop on the Chatseorth House and farm Estate in Derbyshire

Really nice place to visit not been for years not very wheelchair friendly

That's a real shame @janer1967 I have to agree farm shops are lovely, and there is often a difference in quality.

Is there any way they could improve access?

I have a farm shop near me that does some amazing homemade cakes, Victoria Sponge, Orange, Lemon, all very tasty for a treat every now and then!
