2nd attempt at claiming pip, dm was not happy with the assessors report and sent it back

2nd attempt at claiming pip, had telephone assessment on 25th April 2022 last week I had a standard letter saying they had all the info for the dm to make decision, no other info so rang up from what I understand the dm was not happy with the assessors report and sent it back and I should hear this week if I have been awarded anything. Has anyone got any ideas on this please

    Just so that I understand fully, when you say 2nd attempt do you mean Mandatory Reconsideration, or a whole new application?

    It can happen but it's rare. It doesn't mean anything other than the report was returned.

    I spoke with a lady at pip claims she was able to tell me my letter had been sent and I will receive standard payment for daily living higher rate for mobility.

    It’s a relief, but a struggle which is not an acceptable place to be put in, 9 months of pain and not being believed is too much too bear

    Hi @Spud2022 it is a difficult process to go through, I know, and it does sometimes make you feel like you're having to 'prove yourself', which can be frustrating.  

    It's not that anyone didn't believe you, just that they were making sure they could understand what life is like for you day-to-day, and they've decided you're entitled to PIP as a result. 

    It's a shame that it takes so very long sometimes. You're not alone in feeling this way, so let us know if we can help support you with anything else :)
