I sent my WC50 back 11 months ago. How long will it take to get a decision from the DM?

That does seem an extremely long time to wait for a decision. There's no timescales for a decision really but 11 months is ridiculous. Put a note on your journal and tell them that you rang the health assessment providers and you were told the report was returned on X date and could then chase this up for you please.

Are you sure the report was returned almost a year ago? Did you have a work capability assessment?

You should get a letter (postal) explaining the back pay. Mine came after I had received payment in my account.
That's not correct when claiming UC because it's a digital claim, unlike PIP.

When it's paid from will depend on the exact date you reported your health condition and the date you usually receive your normal payment each month. This is because there's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month.
Any money owed is usually paid separate to your usually monthly amount. First they need to recalculate your past statements so they can work out exactly what they owe you. Once this is done you'll receive a letter uploaded onto your journal and it will tell you how much they owe. It will then be paid into your bank. Very often it takes a few weeks for this to happen.

You won't get anything in post for this everything relating to uc will be uploaded on your journal

It takes a while to get ant back pay for lcwra but you should get first payment in your next uc payment bit back pay will be seperate

Keep an eye on your old statements as once they have recalculated them they will change to show the lcwra element

I would wait couple of weeks or put note in your journal flag it as payment query

Explain when you first reported condition and 0r9vuded fit note and that you should be backdated

If a claim for UC is made online, access will be through your journal so no actual letters will be sent through the post.

It is possible, but not easy, to get DWP to treat an online claim as a phone claim. I believe it remains as an online claim but the file is noted to allow treatment as a phone claim. Phone claimants will get correspondence.

Have managed it with someone who made an online claim with the help of a friend who kept an eye on the journal for the claimant. Friend then moved away and it became a bit challenging so claimant wanted it changed to phone.
