I sent my WC50 back 11 months ago. How long will it take to get a decision from the DM?

Hi guys I sent my WC50 back 11 months ago and have been advised by medical services that the sent a report to the DM in July 2021 but I am yet to receive a decision any ideas how long it will take to get a decision from the DM

That does seem an extremely long time to wait for a decision. There's no timescales for a decision really but 11 months is ridiculous. Put a note on your journal and tell them that you rang the health assessment providers and you were told the report was returned on X date and could then chase this up for you please.

I have done that every month since October and just keep getting told that they can’t give me any timeframe to get a decision from the DM and need I need to be patient

Hi thanks for your reply I have also done this and was told massive backlog due to covid my doctors have told me I will never return to work so don’t understand the delay

Are you sure the report was returned almost a year ago? Did you have a work capability assessment?

May be time to involve your MP's office.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

I was originally told it could take up to 3 YEARS for an assesment! Admittedly it was because I needed to be assessed by a neurological specialist (which never hapened) but in the end, it was my work coach that got mine sped up for me. I don't know your circumstances but at the time I was living off basic UC only with no hope of returning to work & when I made my work coach aware of the financial difficulties I was in she made some calls & made it happen for me. Worth a try maybe?
