The study involved 19 men .
‘When consumed in moderation it can improve gut microbiota, which plays a role in digestion, according to the American Chemical Society's Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry.’
’A previous study showed that when men and women consumed non-alcoholic lager beer for 30 days, their gut microbiome diversity increased.’

On a hot day like this it’s tempting I must say! 🍻
(I hope this isn’t medical advice @Alex_Scope?)

A study of 19 men is hardly a study in my view1

That’s a small sample I must admit @janer19670

No I don't think it's medical advice don't worry @leeCal, you are just sharing the report that you've found, which is in itself reporting on a study.
A key question here is, how do define "in moderation"?

In the article it does say;
‘In the study 19 men were divided into two groups who drank a 330ml bottle of either alcoholic or non-alcoholic lager with dinner for four weeks.’
So I guess one 330ml bottle a day with food is what they’re calling in moderation. I must say that is a small amount per day. (I’m feeling unusually thirsty now!)0 -
Maybe the non alcoholic drink but alcohol damages your liver also one a day every day would most likely make someone dependent probably because your body is used to haveing it if you tried to stop1
