It's bad luck to whistle in the kitchen.
If you drop a cooks knife on the floor you should stamp on it - stick it in wood sure to come good !
not forgetting the itchy palms - rub it on wood - right hand receive , left hand give.

Two women must not pour from the same tea-pot, if they do, a quarrel will ensue. 🍵

If you whistle in someones ear it will stop them from snoring.
I can testify that the above works very effectively: A friend of mine believed in every old wives tale going, including whistling in the ear of a snorer . We were staying in a hotel and I was fast asleep and snoring my head off. I began to dream I was walking through a jungle and there were budgies whistling. I woke up but could still hear whistling. I turned around and found my friend whistling in my ear. What are you doing, I asked. He said I am whistling in your ear to stop you snoring. I said it bally works, I am wide awake now! -
If you swallow an apple pip a tree will grow in your stomach.

To test wether a baby will be a boy or girl you take the pregnant woman's wedding ring (or other important ring) and tie it to a thread or string (some women use a strand of hair). The pregnant woman lies down, and you dangle the ring over her baby bump. If the ring swings in a circle, the baby will be a girl.
(Disclaimer: remember this is an old wives tale )“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”

Sitting on a cold or damp step would give u piles.
No evidence to support that but was told often as a child. -

If you get a yellow reflection from someone’s chin having held a buttercup under it then they like butter 🙂

It's bad luck if a black cat crosses your path. Well had plenty of black cats over 30 odd years as pets , crossed me god knows how many times, no bad luck from them...
