Recently I got a tiny bit upset (although didn't say anything) because family members were glued to their smartphones and not interested in conversation.
I realised this is something that usually old people get upset about.
The funny thing is the "guilty" family members were much older than me!!
Have you recently done anything, or had something happen to you, that made you feel you're getting old?

Getting up off a chair and doing the ufff sound ..

Being called ma'am instead of miss by a delivery person
I also hear myself saying expressions my parents said.
Oh and the other day I genuinely forgot how old I was. When I was a child I thought that it wasn't possible and it was something adults just said, but I really couldn't remember and had to work it out with my date of birth. -
Sound effects when getting up and sitting down is a good one!!
-
I went to a bar for a friend's birthday, and my first thought was that the music was too loud.

I wish there was a funny button to respond to some of these

Hearing myself talk about 'youngsters' the same way my mother used to talk about me.

Having to have a birds and bees chat with my son

I was talking with a friend about something that happened in the past, saying it was a decade ago, to which he pointed out it was actually 15 years ago.
I think my response was "When did we get so old?"Online Community CoordinatorConcerned about another member's safety or wellbeing? Flag your concerns with us.

You know you’re getting old when you bend down to tie a shoelace and wonder what else needs doing while you’re down there.

Getting up off the floor is a James bond mission in its self.

Using all my energy to go upstairs to get something I need, only to forget what it is I want by the time I reach the landing.
Even worse, getting half-way up the stairs, forgetting what I was going up for, going back downstairs....then remembering what it was, so set off up the stairs, get to the top....and forget AGAIN!!! -
It was my grandson's birthday yesterday. My daughter had texted me the day before saying, 'Can you believe you'll have a 20 year old grandson tomorrow?' I replied, 'Makes me feel too old.' She texted back, 'Thought you're 27.' (I've told my children for too many years that I'm only 27, as that's how old I'm in my head). I replied, 'That's why having a 20 year old grandson is puzzling.'

I always wondered when exactly the small wee hours of the night were...I found out when I turned sixty.
